For over a century, the Offereins family has stood at the forefront of veterinary medicine. We are not a startup disrupting an industry we don't understand; we are the veterans saving it.
Our work is rooted in over a hundred years of veterinary heritage, providing the essential trust factor required for high-stakes medical care. This timeline represents our journey from traditional clinical excellence to the digital "Central Nervous System" of modern equine health.

Before modern pharmaceuticals, Apeiron’s roots were established by Dr Willem Bos. Graduating in 1920, he pioneered a whole-horse approach to veterinary care, developing herbal protocols for conditions including paralysis and respiratory disease. His published manuscripts formed the basis of our enduring School of Thought and set the Apeiron foundations; highlighting the limitless possibilities in veterinary care.
As the horse transitioned into a high-performance athlete, Apeiron evolved under Dr Evert Offereins. A founding figure of equine sports medicine in the Netherlands, he worked at the forefront of emerging technologies such as X-ray diagnostics and equine surgeries. Through television broadcasts and published works, he brought veterinary science into the public, establishing our first pillar: Apeiron Institute.

Apeiron went global. Henk Offereins DVM continued to innovate in equine sports management, introducing novel rehabilitation protocols and equine soft-tissue treatments. What began in his local practice in Ireland expanded to the wider global equine community. Recognising that "good enough" is not enough, he carried his grandfather's philosophy forward into modern equine care, establishing our second pillar: Apeiron Care.
Through our vision, we recognised that this standard of care should not be limited by geography or discipline. By transforming a veterinary philosophy into a shared global understanding, Apeiron is building a connected ecosystem that brings together over 100 years of industry knowledge. Apeiron places the horse at the centre, bringing education, care and communication together to transform equine management from isolated decisions into coordinated, lifelong care, establishing our third pillar: Apeiron Connect.

Our mission is to remove the uncertainty from equine health. We exist to bridge the gap between clinical excellence and the person standing next to the horse, placing the wisdom of a century and the strength of a connected care team into the hands of those who matter most.
Through trusted expertise, intelligent technology, and seamless collaboration, we empower proactive, personalised care that protects longevity, performance, and welfare. No more guessing. No more fragmentation. Just informed decisions, clear pathways, and peace of mind. Because every horse deserves more than reactive repair; they deserve a team, a plan, and a future.

For over a century, the Offereins family has stood at the forefront of veterinary medicine. But we realised that "excellence" in the clinic wasn't enough if the care stopped at the door. We saw an industry drifting towards corporate standardisation—treating injuries rather than managing athletes, and leaving owners to navigate a fragmented maze of farriers, physios, and vets alone.
We strive to do better than "good enough" and ensure that no vital information is lost in translation. Apeiron exists to close the gap. We are the bridge between over 100 years of veterinary wisdom and the person standing next to the horse. We are not just a digital platform; we are the central nervous system of equine care.
By connecting every professional—from the surgeon to the stable hand—into one "hub of truth," we ensure that every decision is informed, every treatment is tracked, and every potential roadblock is identified before it becomes a crisis. We do this because we believe peace of mind shouldn't be a luxury. Whether you are managing an Olympic athlete or a beloved companion, you deserve more than just a repair service when things go wrong; you deserve a partner who clears the path ahead. We are the Sage who offers the knowledge you need, and the Caregiver who offers the safety you crave.

A veteran in managing elite equine athletes, Henk developed the core philosophy that care is a proactive partnership, not a reactive repair. He works with vets globally to change their ways of thinking, ensuring longevity and health for these animals.
